Mike Bogdanski’s Anti Bully parent workshops are designed to hep educate parents on the earliest signs of bullying in children, the myths about bullying, and how to handle a variety of situations – including if your own child is the bully.

Program features

  • The warning signs of bullying: Oftentimes, students don’t immediately speak up when they’re being bullied. Whether it’s from fear of retaliation or fear that no one will believe them, it’s difficult for victims of bullying to have the courage necessary to speak out. Mike helps educate parents on what signs to look out for that can help determine if their child is a victim of bullying.
  • What makes your child a target: Mike helps parents identify what attributes in their children could make them a target for bullies, and how they can hep their children not become targets of bullying.
  • Bullying’s greatest myths: Mike uncovers common myths about bullying to help parents realize what exactly is going on at school.
  • The risks of being bullied: Being a victim of bullying often carries a heavy emotional weight. Mike educates parents on the real cost of being a victim of bullying, so that parents can better support their children as they process what is happening.
  • What if your child is the bully? Mike helps parents identify whether their own children may be bullies themselves, based on behavioral and social attributes. He also helps parents properly approach talking to their children about being a bully in order to diffuse the behavior.

Olweus Bullying Prevention Method

Mike’s Anti Bully program is heavily based on the Olweus Bullying Prevention Method. This method of bullying prevention focuses on whole-school involvement, involving students in regular discussions about bullying, and empowering students, teachers, and administrators to know when to step in when a bullying situation is occurring. Mike draws from this method of bullying prevention to not just build up individual students, but to instill a culture of Anti-Bullying at each school that he goes to. In his parent seminars, Mike builds upon this to help spread this culture into the home. The relationships that parents foster with their children have a deep impact on how they act outside of the home, so he encourages parents to promote a culture of confidence and love, in order to help parents participate in the Anti Bully culture.
